self learning computer
Does anyone know if the black tops have a self learning computer? I am looking at putting cams and cam gears in my blacktop and i would not need a new ECU if it is self learning.

I believe it is to an extent, as far as cam gears go, are you going to eliminate VVT? What cams are you installing? I had Toda cams and cam gears on my AE86 setup and I removed VVT, ECU didn't like that too much but it still ran really strong. After tuning I was making 174hp @ 8400rpm, engine was still making more power but rev limiter kicked in. Tuning was done via eManage Ultimate. I was running it kind of rich, about 12.8:1 so it could have been tuned a little tighter and made more power, but I didn't bother as I sold the car a few weeks afterwards.
