Blacktop valve cover

I just got a sweet deal on a blacktop from a local shop that deals with importing engines. I know everyone there and I was in the back and noticed it sitting on a skid tucked away in a corner. The only problem I have right now is that it doesnt have a valve cover on it, they sold it to someone. They compression tested it for me, and let me crank it by hand, and it turns over smoothly. It also had a piece of plastic taped over the head (took that off to compression test it), and the entire engine was covered in a big plastic bag. So nothing should have gotten in it.

I was wondering where I might be able to order one. I cant find any on ebay, and I cant seem to track one down. I am not concerned at all with the electronics, they can get me the ECU, and I have a cut harness with everything I need. Just I am worrying I might have a really serious problem tracking down a valve cover for an engine never produced in the U.S.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks!

Look in the classifieds for someone parting a blacktop out. You may get lucky there. Other than that I have no ideas.

Check with Kazin1111. He is parting out a silvertop and should have the cover to that motor.

Will do, I really dont care if the cover is from a black top or a silver top. So long as it works.

Yup, just a can of spray paint, and it's a blacktop again.

Just figured I would update this since I am getting a few PMs now. The shop I bought the engine from found a cover for me. They are getting it for me free of charge, so I appreciate everyone who helped me out.

This is a great forum, you guys always manage to point me in the right direction!

I just received a cut harness, and am waiting on an ECU before I even start the swap.

If I am unable to do it myself you'll be the first one to know. But my forte is wiring, I am one of the weird people who enjoys doing it. I swapped an injected 13b engine into a carb'd 12a Rx7 once for a buddy and ended up making almost an entire new harness from scratch. Most of the original wiring in the car was far too brittle to work with. (1979 Rx7, left outside with no hood on for years...)
