engine removal

starting my swap finally i haven't been on this site in like 6 months
quick question removing my 4age so i need to attach the hoist to the engine then take out all slack un-do the mounts then drop the engine onto a roller board then release the engine lift up the rear of the mr-2 and slide the engine out??

yes...if you have a hoist thats about right....i did it without one

Done 3 swaps now and that is the most easy and clean and fastest way
Drop the engine and lift the car,.you do not even need rollers o.a,.I used a strip of ply wood and slide the engine over the wood,.the engine isn't that heavy.
And you do not have to lift it so high this way.

The only thing I might add is that what I did is put the front end of the car on ramps, and the back end of the car on large jackstands (6 or 8 ton, I can't recall.) When you measure the jackstands, it doesn't look like it will work because the engine is taller than the stands, but you have to remember that the car will be at an angle, so the back of the car will be much higher than the jackstands.

I'll have to post a picture of my car in the air. It will make a lot more sense than my explanation!
