So I had been running the car in bypass mode with no problems. Then Tuesday night I was messing around and did some full throttle shifts and heading into third the engine died. Checking the codes revealed I had both a MAP sensor and IGT signal failure. At that point light bulb appeared above my head.

The car wouldn't stay running when I tried to get going again. So I made sure all my connections were good... still nothing. Then unplugged and plugged back in the SMT6 bypass board and that fixed it. It was definitely the connector causing the problem. So I took the car over to my Dad's and he happened to have some contact cleaner/lubricant and I dowsed both sides of the connector with it and plugged the SMT6 back in. It's now been running for 4 days without a hick-up. I am chalking this up to the fact that it may have been sitting on a shelf for months, maybe years, and who knows in what kind of environment. I'm guessing the contacts had oxidized just enough to give me random problems but still work most of the time. I'm going to keep testing it for a few more days and if I get no more problems put the big injectors back in. Fingers crossed.
