2005 MR2 Spyder Hardtop

Well on it's way to being just as desirable as the 1995 Mk II MR2, a 2005 Mk III Spyder may truly be the last MR2 we ever see sold stateside. Steve jumped on this last chance to own a brand new MR2 after previously owning another Spyder, a wingless 1985 Mark I.

Like most other owners the stock MR2 just wasn't enough for Steve. Most notable on the exterior is the OEM accessory hardtop which accentuates the Spyder more than any other body modification on this side of the pond. Continuing with the Toyota commissioned modification scheme, Steve also added a TRD Sportivo suspension set which includes struts, springs and sway bars, along with a TRD quickshifter and Scion head unit. Adding to the list is a PPE Header and High Flow Cat, Carson Tuned Muffler, CAI and brass shift cable bushings. Tightening up the chassis is a Corky Breast Plate along with front and rear strut tower bars. Next up is a custom modification to mate a Corolla/Matrix TRD SC to the Spyder's 1ZZ-FE- not exactly a plug and play operation as the firewall must be modified to make the blower fit.

You might be familiar with supunna_picta's car if you've ever played Forza 2 and upgraded the exhaust on your MR2 Spyder, it's actually his car you're hearing!
