I recently bought my first MR2. Until a few months ago I had no idea what an MR2 was. So $70 for the "88 NA MR2 @ 159,000. a new windshield, and bypass the clutch starter switch with a push button, and she's on the road. Now I have many ideas on how I want to redo this awsome little car. The problem I'm having is that I really don't know that much about Toyotas. I've done some research so I know that it shouldn't be that big of a deal to swap the motor with one out of like a 91-95 celica. I love the Hi R's of the MR2. Enough of my rambeling. What motor would everyone recomend. It will probable be another yr before I get around to the swap, and I'm thinking I'd spend around $1000 for the motor, but would be willing to spend up to $2000. Obviously the cheaper the better. Other requirements, popular for after market proformance parts, if its NA has a good compression ration ideal for turbo or supercharger. could run at least 200whp or even 300, and not nessicary but ideal 6spd tranny. So whats everyones thoughts?
