no dont buff the **** out of it do it carefully, as little as possible to remove just the scratch. you can damage any paint, clear coat or not, with compound. if you screw up, black is going to show that you screwed up more than other colors. if you do it right and without going overboard you can buff anything.

compounds work by taking a small layer of paint or clear off the top to remove blemishes. with a decent paint job, you have more than enough clear to buff it a bunch of times, but the less you do it the better.
