Repeat post from 3sgte forum...

Ok guy, maybe someone here can help. I swapped a '93 JDM motor into a '91 chassis using its ecu and AFM. The engine and all electronics attached are JDM. It misses at high load (over 4000rpm under boost). Dirstr. cap and rotor, and plugs and wires are new. Here's my last post.

Ok.. so it seems whoever had this car before f*ed with the AFM and did that mod where you move the little wheel. Well I got in there and moved it a couple notches in either direction and it didnt solve the problem, it helped and also made it worse. So I dont think that was it, but that combined with the timing set at 15 degrees seemed to help more. Is the ECU sensing Knock and pulling back timing WAYYYY back and thats what I feel? Could the person have leaned out the mixture so much that it knocks? It sure doesnt show any lean condition on the O2 sensor wire. THe thing is, I dont know what was the stock setting on the AFM wheel, so I am having to just guess (theres a bunch of marks where someone made reference points). The car ran fine before we changed the motor (had blown head gasket, but accelerated smoothly), so something just isnt matching between the 93 JDM motor and the 91 USDM AFM/ECU combination.
