No, if you route it this way, you don't have a means for the return line. So if you route it the way you wrote, then you'd have to use the proper earls metric -> AN adapter, then another AN -> AN reducer to get it to -4, then hook up a -4 line from that to the fuel return hardpipe by the coolant neck (or all the way to the firewall, whichever you prefer).

It would be better if you made a line from the fuel filter to the rail. Then from rail to FPR, then from FPR to hardline.

Correct. Depending on the gauge you are using (most use a 1/8" NPT), you'd need an AN -> NPT adapter.
