IMO your EBC / Diamond Black types are brakes you see in "Max Power" / "Fast Car" mags -rather than the one's I've seen on actual track cars (MR2's anyway). With std ventillated discs you've no worries like you might with grooved / dimpled or drilled discs which tend have more of a reputation to crack or shatter under heat.
...but this question is akin to asking what's the best tyres -10 folk will give 10 options each stating they're the best option (bit like opening a can of worms). No doubt there'll be a few recommendations on here.
For me, these days I know there's one supplier I know gives me good sound impartial advice -so I go with that and pass on the info. That's why I'd suggest looking at the Carbotech's first -but I don't know what the range will be like for Celicas (should be able to get them I'd have thought -but it's near enough £200 for the full set of pads only).

According to Edophus if I ask for MR2 Turbo 92-97 front pads I will be able to put them on my celica at the front. I will need to speak to Carbotech about the rear pads.
will forget about the discs for the time being and just get oads all the way around.
How are they for wear. Hope they aint going to wear in to time with day to day driving.
