I just got my new MR2 registered yesterday. I've been reading this board for a while now, I finally decided to register here and become a member. My experience is next to zilch other than easy bolt-ons (exhaust, intake, etc. and minor interior work) but I usually can put back together anything I take apart.

I have been wanting to buy a BEAMS for years, and from what I read here, I feel that if I were to buy a clip, I could install it myself. Even if I mess up on something atleast with a clip I can have my mechanic look at it and tell me what's wrong. However the main reason I want a clip is because it seems that it is cheaper to do that than to try to get my 5s transmission rebuilt. There are over 155k miles on it, and I can really feel things rattling in there(feels like 5th and 4th might pop out.).

I know with the 3rd gen 3sge the transmission made the car a lot slower, is that same transmission in the BEAMS MR2? Would I be better off looking for another 5s tranny? Also any good websites or places to get a complete BEAMS clip?
