^Yes, I rebuilt the CT26 on the 91 Turbo engine that I rebuilt a while back. I agree, it looks intimidating, but if you look at the parts for the CT26 on their web page I cited above, you can see that it is not a very complicated mechanism and doesn't have that many moving parts. As for balancing, the assembly is already balanced from the factory (unless you have some major damage) and you just have to make sure you put everything back together in the proper order and in the right direction (here come the 10 responses from people who make their living selling new and upgraded turbo's telling you not to rebuild it), but mine has been running strong and has no smoke or leaking issues and it's been humming for about 6 month's now.
I only did mine because I couldn't afford the $1500+ for a turbo upgrade and for $100 (for the kit) I thought "what the hell, let's give it a try". But, it's whatever you're comfortable with.
That company will rebuild it for you also, or do a "performance rebuild". Give them a call, they are nice people to deal with and you don't have to leave 5 voice mail messages before you hear back from them. Of course you should check with the sponsors here to see what they can do for you as well.
