heres the deal guys. its REALLY easy, dont overcomplicate it.. keep it simple, follow this guide, and you'll be fine.
step1. find a donor motor from your year or newer. if its a 91/92 you can use whatever 5sfe you can find. if its a 93+ you MUST use a 93+ 5sfe with a knock sensor.
it doesnt matter where it comes from.
step2. remove your old 5sfe and remove the manifolds, wiring harness and EVERYTHING. throw away the longblock (block and head).
step3. remove all the components from the new motor and
reinstall all your old components on the new motor. this includes sensors, water jackets, distributers, manifolds, wiring harness, valve cover, injectors and all. use ONLY the new longblock. use nothing from the new long block.
step4. install the new motor, plug it in and drive away.
do not change ignition parts. do not change manifolds and valve covers. do not use different colored injectors. do not change the harness. do NOT change the ecu, tps, or distributer!!!
its a very very easy swap, dont make it hard

if you try to start hybriding stuff and making a frankenmotor, you might just find the car never runs again, or runs extremely poorly, or throws codes, or smokes, or doesnt start, or just melts down.
plus doing it this way is cheaper, you dont have to pay for new components that you dont need!
