That depends on what you put into solution. I've tried NaCl (table salt) and with ~7amps the plates were corroding fairly fast. I was doing random experiments with varieties of electrolytes.
I've built a few of these and am working on putting a generator in my F150 (before I attempt my MK1), which I can monitor my fuel / air mixture as well as many other factors through my OBDII port so I'm looking forward to testing that.
Also a note about the stainless light cover plates; the first one I assembled I had the lip of the plate facing down so bubbles would form in the cavitation under the plate. Later I re-arranged them to be facing up, or vertical, so there would be no restriction for the Hydrogen to leave the solution. Just an observation...
All in all, it's a lot of fun and fine tuning the generation and trying to optomize the system!
