You misinterpreted what I was saying. I was saying that the MR2 transmission is not similar to any front-engine, rear-wheel drive transmission.
All the MR2 transmissions are the same or very similar to ordinary front wheel drive Toyota transmissions, Toyota essentially lifted the engine/trans out of a front wheel drive car and put it where it belongs, behind you.
