I'd agree. If everything on your current vehicle works fine, then leave it. Save the expensive mods for later. In the mean time do some easier things (or not), such as fixing any rust, interior flaws, or exterior flaws. Fix everything you can on the car now, so when you eventually swap it everything will be in place.
