If I understand correctly you are talking about the flat tapered pin that is threaded on the end (holding the shift linkage on the shaft). Put some penetrating oil on it tonight and tomorrow put the nut back on without the washer, leaving a gap between the nut and the shifter and using an aluminum faced hammer or an aluminum drift whack the bejeebers out of the end of the shaft and nut and drive the pin out.
Once you break it loose the pin will come out and you can remove the shift linkage. Use aluminum or bend your tapered pin and nut.
