OMG: Lee Myle's

DUDES! So I am a broke slacker and nothing that I posted in that sticky post (which is no longer sticky THANK YOU! Seriously, thanks, it was a horrible post) actually got done. I rebuilt an engine and took my tanny to a shop, obviously Lee Myle's. Well they offered me a SWEET quote: 600 labor + parts. So I am thinking about 900-1,000 bucks. Pretty good deal when everywhere else is saying 1,500. So I dropped it off and waited.

They called me up, two weeks later, and said "Hey, we are having problems locating the correct parts for your transmission. Can we have your exact model year?" I told them, 03/90. Then waited... And waited. I kept trying to get in touch with them and every time I got the answering machine. WTF! So I took a trip to the shop during business hours. They were closed! I asked the Jiffy Lube next door (which btw there was a old co-worker from my first job, at Jiffy Lube, managing the store. It had been at least 3-4 years) what had happened and he said that there were cops there with customers a few days before. So, obviously they got shut down.

What the hell do I do now? I called up to the corporate office and got in touch with a representative. She opened the shop for me to look for my tranny. After looking through about 5 different ones I came across mine taken apart on a greasy workbench sitting, and mixed in, with another transmission that was disassembled. I gathered as much parts as possible and took them to a local AAMCO. They sent it to a few different shops and none of them want to touch it. I guess I'll rebuild it myself.

I am currently ordering the Toyota repair manual for it (part 2 of the engine manual) so I can find out if I have all the parts for my tranny. The only downside is it is on backorder and I only have a limited amount of time to figure out if Lee Myle's has any other parts that belong to me. Also, I found a business on Ebay called Anaheim Gear. They have a bearing and syncro kit for it for about 500-600 bucks. I don't need gears or anything else (Lee Myle's said I only needed bearings and snycros).

I guess what I am asking is: Does anyone have that manual? If you do are you able to utilize it (in reference to rebuilding a tranny) like the engine manual? Also, does anyone know where I can find a used or rebuilt S54 tranny? Any help?

Thanks guys!

P.S. Maybe I should just save up and buy that E153 off of twos'r'us?
