MAF or MAP doesn't matter, either works. But with MAF you have to have a bypass plumbed into the system (as said above).

The bypass needs to be after the 'compressor' (sc/turbo) near the throttle plate if possible. And be plumbed back into the intake 'behind' the MAF sensor, but 'before the compressor. IF you let it go to atmosphere (IE bov) the computer doesn't calculate the fact that it has 'lost' the air in the intake system and can cause it to stumble, and occasionally die letting off throttle w/no load due to over fuelling. Also, on these systems if a BOV is used and it's allowing excess air to be 'lost' under boost while driving hard the ecu will run overrich there as well. Possibly leading to loss of power, bad mileage, fouled sparkplugs, etc...


I don't see any reason why going to a MAP sensor will elimate the knock sensor. What is the guy smoking?
