What size are you looking for (I'm not famililar with MK1 sizes) ?
Check out Tirerack.com, I've bought most of my tires from them. Even after shopping around, they usually end up being the cheapest, or very competitive in their pricing. I do live only 100 miles away so I end up getting them 1 day after being shipped UPS ground.
There are a number of Bridgestone winter tires available on their size. 14" tire sizes are roughly $60-70 depending on model each. Shipping is usually $6-10 depending on your location. That would be closer to $280 for the set, and find a local shop for install, $50.
