In regards to a 4AGZE vs a 4AGTE:

It was used in the supercharged AW11 Toyota MR2, rated at 145 hp (108 kW) and 140 ft·lbf (190 N·m). Later versions of this engine are rated 165 hp (127 kW) and 155 ft·lbf (210 N·m) for the AE92 and AE101 Corolla.

These engines are also popular for a turbo conversion, as many parts do not need to be modified to support the extra boost.
The 4AGZE was also in some Corollas, and so was the 4AGE (N/A). To make a 4AGTE you will either have to build up a 4AGE, including all new internals to support boost (you might be able to pull 3 psi out of a stock 4AGE safely). However you're better off starting with the 4AGZE and removing the supercharger and putting on a turbo - doing this will save you both time and money.

The most bang for your buck varies between two things:

1. Swap in a 4AGE 20 valve from the later generation Corollas/Levin/Trueno. This engine is said to push 160, but most dynos only show average of about high 140s.

2. Swap in 4AGZE motor and change out the supercharger pulley, which does a lot for low end torque, but I can't remember what the exact HP rating is with the upgraded pulley.

By far the cheapest option is to stay with your 4AGE - but where is the fun in that?
