there is a good thread on a uk gt-four forum where someone compares all the 3s blocks including the motorsport block and the beams is the same as the motorsport block, supposedly stronger than the st205 and st185 turbo blocks. Just the block though, not the pistons etc.
also there is some techincal documentation regarding the 1jz-gte engine and how when they added vvti to it they could change from twin to single turbo and gain low end torque, so there is some advantage to it.

I thought somebody on this forum even said it couldn't be done, RA45 maybe? There was something up with it because of the 2nd VVTi. I read on toysport as well about the blocks, supposedly we have under piston sprayers as well????? And yeah def a little bit stronger block, but does you no good if the sleeves go ape sh*t..... I just don't get the idea of swapping heads between blocks, wouldn't that just cost waaaay more for no reason?
The JDM 2JZ comes with VVTi.....the 1JZ went into the Chaser till 2000 so it figures it had VVTi onboard already...many toyota engines did from 1997 on up.
