Selling my blown engine STi and getting an MR2 or...

In the next 6 months I am either:

1) Selling my STi and getting a nice early 90s turbo MR2 in the 350-450 whp (probably widebody) range on a ~$12k budget CT: 2004 STi rolling chassis (possible blown engine) w/ lots of mods for sale CHEAP - NASIOC

2) Selling my STi and getting another modified car to include the following or other suggestions: LS1 Camaro/Trans Am, LS1 swapped vehicle (rx7, s14, etc), Turbo 240sx, built 500hp+ civic hatch/CRX

3) Keep my STi and put some money to build it to 400-450 whp daily driver, I would also get tints, and flat black paint job

I think the MR2 and the FD rx7 look the nicest out of all the vehicles I'm looking at. The STi is definitely no slouch, but I have only driven AWD and FF cars and would really like to experiment with rear wheel drive for a change. The MR layout and exotic look of the MR2 is also a key factor. I wonder how hard it is to learn to drive at the limits. Reliability and cost/ease of maintenance is also a huge concern of mine. Toyota is known to be reliable but I know very little about the MR2 admittedly. I would like to own a car that I requires little work on my part unlike the DSMs I used to own. I can't believe some of the deals I am seeing lately for all cars.
