New MR2 owner
Hi everyone. I just picked up a 1987 NA MR2 5 speed yesterday. Sunroof option, manual windows and locks, 186499 miles on it. Previous owner replaced the timing belt, tensioner, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, alternator, and battery.
The car is rough externally, and will need replacing of the fenders and quarter panels. It also needs a paint job. Mechanically, it needs the oil pan gasket replaced, and I need to bring it to a muffler shop for a catalytic converter and muffler, or at the bare minimum, at least a muffler. I traded my 1992 Acura Integra LS coupe for it. My Acura was in pretty good shape and had 168344 miles on it, and was an automatic model. I had reverse glow gauges on it, strut tower bar, cold air intake, and flowmaster exhaust on it.
Does it seem like I got a pretty fair trade for the MR2?
The MR2's doors, and shock towers are immaculate. The car is solid except for the fenders and quarters.
I liked my Acura, but I've always wanted a Toyota MR2 since I was able to drive (for the past 12 1/2 years. I'm pretty excited about finally having one. Looking forward to being apart of these forums; as I was pretty active in the Integra forums during my ownership of the Acura.
