please help!! CEL code 4!
hi, in the past few days i bought a brand new engine air drain valve (air bleeder) that goes in top of the thermostat housing for my 87 mr2 n/a. as soon i installed it, i flushed the cooling system, refilled new 50/50 antifreeze, bled all the air bubbles in the system for 40 mins (it took me that long). also, i bought a new coolant temp. sensor in the water neck located in the rear cylinder head last week cause it gave me a CEL code 4 (which is coolant temp. sensor). anyways, the next two days, the CEL code 4 came back and i noticed that the motor started to overheat a little bit and running rough (power loss, weak). it felt like i was towing a boat behind me. i opened the radiator cap, top off a little antifreeze, ran the car for a few mins and still the same.
i also noticed that the oil pressure gauge was a little bit too high than normal when idling. so i ignored it. then yesterday i tried to start the car but no luck. it just crank and no start. after a few tries, it started but was idling from 1300 to 1500 rpm instead of 2000. and i know the mr2's idle high at 2000 rpm when cold. so i tried to give it gas and it just stalls. can someone tell me WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON with my 87 n/a mr2!!?? sorry is so long, but i need to fix this issue since this is my only car i drive to work. please help!! P.S.- motor has been rebuilt and has 1000 miles on it.
