so new findings...

I think it's fairly safe to say I'm getting not only spark, but certainly gas. I removed the intercooler and checked the throttle linkage... It's jammed like crazy and I'm not sure how its supposed to look. There's serious slack on the throttle cable, there doesn't seem to be a return spring, and upon finding this... my brother in law held the throttle open by hand (not the greatest idea...but its too gummed up to open on its own) and I turned the key...

now, I've heard backfires before...but holy crap! This thing popped like a damned stick of dynamite. There must be tons of gas just sitting, and yeah, theres spark... lol

So what I need to do is find a diagram for the throttle body complete for the 88 SC mr2. I downloaded that manual, and the pics aren't that great. I believe it would not only turn over, but run fine once the throttle body is gone through and cleaned up, and I figure out why theres so much slack and no tension on the gas pedal. thoughts??
