So we're all idiots, right? I paid premium for mine and have absolutely no regrets. All the stuff I've done to the car since then has cost me about $5k. I now have close to $12k in the car. But I like it way better than anything else I would have $12k.

So by the time I got my '86 home I had about $6,500 in it. Include sales tax, processing fees, bla, bla, bla...also including my expenses to go 600 miles to get it. Mine had 42k ish miles on it. The selling price was like $5,600. The most I would pay for an '85 w/ 75K is probably $5k (in mint condition).

I really don't give a s__t what the book says these cars are worth. The car is worth what someone is willing to pay. PERIOD.
