Pretty sure I figured out what the noise was. I turned on the A/C today and nothing happened. Hooked up my pressure gauge and it was empty. So in a way it's good because it means the noise was due to lack of pressure. It's bad because that means I have a leak in the system in a spot where I can't see the dye. Until I can have someone look at it, $20 every year for refrigerant from NAPA isn't bad to keep the system running.
