Really wanted to Turbo or Supercharge it, but the timing wasn't good for it.
So why I got a 300zx, who knows. Why I'm looking at MR-2's...another mystery. I guess I love difficult cars. Their all just so hot though I can't help it.

Haha, sounds like my story exactly. I had Level10 build the transmission so I could do a custom turbo setup on mine as well. Even bought the turbos, a pair of 2g DSM t25s and a Greddy eManage to control it. Then this part died and that part died and I went back to college and just didn't have the time or money to fix it up and do my turbo work. I got the MR2 primarily so I could learn how to drive stick so I could work more effectively as a technician, but I got myself a well-maintained one (for more money than I should have spent

) so I wouldn't be fixing it every couple of months. I need to sell the SVX to pay back my loan, but the market value just isn't what I hoped for so it sits waiting for someone desperate.
Sometimes I really miss the winter driving capabilities of the SVX here in PA; that thing was an absolute tank in a good snowstorm! With a Phantom Grip LSD in the front diff and winter tires on all four corners snow didn't phase her one bit! I don't miss needing to jack up the front end a bit and using 3 feet of extensions to do spark plugs though, especially with the frequency I would have been doing them with a turbo kit on there. After I got the MR2 the SVX stopped breaking all the time for the most part. Had to replace the PS cooler back in January but beyond that she's running fine and reliable now. Figures...
I got lucky with my MR2. A dealership near my parent's house got a relocated Cali 91 turbo in mid-2006 and still had it for sale around Christmas, so I got a loan from my grandparent's and haggled them down from $10k to $8.5k. Could have done better if I'd been able to walk away from it, but it was just in too good of condition. Totally stock, rust free, just about perfect. Ah well, I got it, I love it, I don't regret it one bit
Good luck with your search Jordan. I know there are cheaper examples of ones in the condition mine was in to be found outside of dealers.
