I dropped my 89 NA 1" with a set of Eibach springs and KYB GR2 struts. All alignment settings are within original factory specs. A new set of Prothane bushings didn't hurt any as they eliminated all slop.

Along with a set of Addco 3/4" sway bars front and rear it rides rough (you feel every pot hole and dip in the road) but corners like a go cart

The sway bars probably didn't cause the rough ride. I made all the above changes at once.

I can tell you the changes made it an entirely new car to drive in the mountains.
