i second that ^ te51. i had close to the same problem as you trey, i was at the track about 8 months ago and my car did about the same thing ran hard till about 5500-6.(kinda fell flat there after,no pull/top end) later that week after, i checked my ignition set up. and sure enough my cap and rotor were close to being shot. the electric contacts(where the rotor sends the spark to the cap then to the wires) was corroded. bought a new rotor and sanded down what i could off the cap cause as im sure you know. have to order cap from else where. and that "FELT" like it had its top end back. but i was unable to go to the track to see a diffrance.
