I know this is an old thread, but I just had to answer this...

I would have to disagree with muffinman on this. First, don't ever put stuff like hazardous used brake components or even new in places like your oven and fridge were you put things that you eat. This stuff will hurt your health, literally. Buying the press is the smartest thing you did, specially being your age when this was posted. I'm sorry, but I just cringe when I hear things like this. Just my two cents.

I would use Mother's Oven; set at around 400*F/200*C
We want to EXPAND the hub, SHRINK the bearing as much as possible, to allow easy location.
But, in cooking we OFTEN get the oven HOT/UP to TEMP, FIRST.
Here, we want to EVENLY, progressively expand the hub.
So, HUB into COLD OVEN, and allow heat to build.
Will take time. Monitor thermostat for progress, up to temperature.
And Bearing? Into the fridge. Overnight.
And also the pliers which you are going to handle it with. So that we minimise added heat, at installation time.
Good luck to those who read this.
