S/C block w N/A parts-Opinions wanted

What do you suppose are the issues associated with taking the extremely economical 8:1 compression S/C block and using the intake, inj's etc from the N/A model(s)-

Rough calculations seem to indicate a 16% increase in mileage due to less volume, which in turns takes a 32mpg car to 38-40mpg.

Yes, agreed it's slower but also greener?

1. Yes, the distributors/harnesses are slighly different
2. Yes, starters swap sides.
3. No, knock sensor not needed?
4. Yes, cheap low octane gas?
