I also wanted to add that, if your coil is weak it can run okay till you get on it, as you increase the voltage needed it comes in to rapid of succession to continue continuity and therefore will lead to no spark, but will spark when there is less demand. ..I would run out and buy a coil, but if you have one extra lying around, or swap one in for a few, Id try it......the coil I got for the 2 was like 50.00 bucks and it was an accel yellow.

I never unplugged the ACV.. so I'm not sure..

I left the car running the garage many times. I never had a problem with idle or reving when NOT under load.

The only things it did more often right before the problem started to be more bogging then hesistating was backfire a few times when I was in reverse years ago.. .. And, then one night I got on it a little,a nd it started doing all sorts of weird stuff.. Like right when it was about to get into boost the car would lean out and I would back off the throttle..then hammer the throttle again, and it would boost fine.. but then hesitate like crazy. That is when the problems started to get even worse, and there was more bogging, etc.

Maybe my coil is weak. I have another coil from an MR2.. not sure if it's an NA coil or a SC coil. But, I'll have to give that a try.

Maybe something with the ECU trying to send a higher signal to the coil after the ECU learns about how the car is running, and my coil can't keep up with the instructions, thus not working correctly.. who knows.. but I'll try it.

History of my car is :

87 na auto. converted to 87 SC 5spd with C-52 trans

Bought with 59k back in 1994

Now, ~105k.. and got the gze out of an 85SC swap car that was running w/o an intercooler, and had a no boost problem

The gze had around the same mileage as my 87, so that worked out good in that sense. and we never found out why it wasn't boosting.. but it boosted after we put the engine in my 87.. and dind't have the bogging problem until about 1.5 hours on the way back home from the engine swap.. and it started to hesitate a little when pulling out in 1st gear.
