I have a 93 turbo with the same problem. It started slow but now the dash light is constantly on and it wont let me set my cruise control with it lit. The way the sensor looks to be built is that when the switch is depressed it grounds out to the screw that mounts it. I pulled the console off, unplugged the sensor and grounded the wire but to no avail. Is there a way to test the switch or is it better (and cheap) to just get a new switch? I checked the fluid level and it is right up to the full mark...so its not that...but could that sensor have gone bad?
