I've been considering it for a MKII, the problems I see are:
the funky triangle shaped turbine inlets which would require a custom manifold or adapter to still retain the twin scroll advantage, it's turbine housing is offset from the flange farther than a CT26 so I'm not sure how well it will fit in the engine bay and the compressor is on the opposite side from the CT26 so intake and intercooler piping will be a little different.

Have you seen the block? It's a closed deck cast iron block... Where are you getting your information from?
Check to see if your celica board has a member named "Pressure" or "Pressure2" and ask him about how weak the motors are.
