You have several options when it comes to intakes. The Apex'i is definitely one of the more common intakes and does the job. It is especially nice because it has a heat shield. There is a group buy on those intakes right now. Take a look at the group buy section.
Are you looking for a electronic boost controller or manual? You have a lot of options here. There have been rave reviews on the manual boost controller from EMS powered. If you want/can spend a little more, an electronic boost controller is nice because of the adjustable presets (track, street, etc.). Some options include:
1. Blitz Dual SBC as well as several others manufactured by Blitz
2. HKS EVC as well as many others from HKS
3. AEM TruBoost (boost controller and boost gauge in one).
4. Greddy Profec
As far as stand-alone fuel management systems go, there are probably only 3 good options. It is up for debate but from what I've read and seen, the most commonly used ones are:
1. Power FC
2. AEM EMS
3. Hydra Nemisis
There are other options out there, but these seem to be the ones my friends run and that have good reviews in terms of ease of use and effectiveness.
What other modifications are you planning. The power primer is definitely a good place to start reading. If you haven't already, you might want to consider upgrading your intercooler, downpipe, and exhaust. If you are looking for these items, check out Berk Technology (berktechnology.com). They will have some options for you as well.
Depending on your budget and your power goals, you could also consider a ROM tune by ATS (atsracing.net). They are a board sponsor and specialize in rom tunes. If you are planning on sticking with a CT20b, this should suffice, saving you a lot of money. But if you are planning a bigger turbo, a stand-alone would be more beneficial.
Good luck! I'm looking forward to seeing the progress.
**Edit: The cheap way of doing things usually ends up costing more than it would have doing it right the first time. I've learned that the hard way.
