As I understand CARB (
which is little, given I don't live in CA!), any engine from that manufacture, for that year or later. So you
could stuff a 4AGE from a model-year-newer Corolla. Yet stick with an MR2, for the harness swap simplicity.... which would mean an NA or SC. Here's to hoping you're not running an '89!
