Dude, I've tried chisels at the base of the race, used and angle grinder to cut grooves for a press, and tried torching the thing. It is ON THERE, and it's not coming off as far as I or any of the guys in the shop can tell. Plus, the exposed half of the shaft is corroded/pitted halfway to hell and gone. It looks like even if I could get the half of the race on there off, the tolerances to a new bearing would be so bad i'd just trash a new one in no time.
