Then don't replace them
. Save your money for weatherstrips or a timing belt job or something. Either way, they are really easy to diagnose (instructions are in the BGB) to check function on them. The most common physical problem (as opposed to a misleading CEL code) is probably clogged passages, and they can usually be cleaned.
