Mine are 3" angle cut and they don't look stupid big or small. Too small and they look kinda weird and too big and it looks like you are trailing 2 confederate cannons
. If you find a close to perfect setup you can cut and reweld the tips to make it better. There are cheap tips everywhere online, mine were $10 a pop and they are polished stainless.
How far it sticks out the back makes a difference to how big it looks and if its round tip or oval.
