Been awhile since I posted here, mainly because I've been busy with school. Of course I had to celebrate summer's arrival, so I promptly took my car for a spirited drive...which ended prematurely. Why? Because I went into a corner too fast and became another victim of our vaunted enemy, snap-oversteer. I haven't taken pictures of the car yet, but for having slammed into a guard-rail at 40mph, the damage isn't bad. The right side of the car was the only portion of the car damaged. The right side of the rear bumper is severely scratched and kicked in pretty good, but the car is still driveable. Other than that, there are minor scratches running up the right side before you get to the right side marker, which was also punched in pretty good. I went to get estimates and the lowest I received was $2800. Each shop essentially wants to replace the entire right side of the car. My question for everyone is what you would do in my situation. I don't have enough money to repair the car, so I'm deciding between driving it as is, buying new front and rear bumpers and having the whole car painted, or slowly repairing each spot of damage piece-by-piece. Thanks for your suggestions.
