Has anyone done an analysis between the 3VZ and 1MZ pickups or oil routes? It looks like both the 3VZ and 1MZ's rear heads will pool oil, unless the 3VZ has a provision for that that the 1MZ lacks.
And I've noticed that when Toyota gives their cars to the media to be thrashed, they overfill the engine. I found that surprising even for the IS-F, with it's head scavenging pump. I can't find the video anymore, so it's likely the BBC told YouTube to remove it, but when the IS-F took off from the start of the Top Gear test track, it blew a TON of smoke out of the exhaust suggesting an overfilled crankcase.
