Alternative to towing in flatbed
research says that towing 4 flat with car in neutral ( manual trans) and inginition to on so tires are free does not hurt the car. I know of several who tow Spyders 4 flat and never any issues to date. The challenge appears to be where and how to mount the brackets. My assumption is that since my 91 only has a single tow hook on the drivers side there must be a passenger side location equally as strong - they just included 1 tow hook form the factory. By replacing the stock tow hook with receiver for the 2 point tow bar ( replicating this on passenger side) then car is good to go.
If I go with a tow dolly do I back it on have front wheels down or drive on an have rear down with car in neutral? A flat bed is too much and too inconvenient for for wide use RV travels. Dolly is a compromise since the low tongue weight means you can move it around by hand once car removed. You can see where flat down towing is so desired.
