i cut up a timing belt and wrapped it around the rubber
works fine. 1000x less annoying than the kirks. i couldnt stand the kirks once i started actually driving the car more than a couple miles a day.
theres no tangible benefit to rattling your brains out with solid mounts. people think its "racy", but its not. its just annoying. id recommend new mounts, but if you're just trying to save some cash, the windoweld will be fine.
you gotta remember that our cars are old now. most of the engine clunking is from completely, absolutely shot engine mounts. new mounts will stop the engine clunking around.
