I'm not 100% up-to-speed on the Mk1 brakes, but you should be ok with a bottom-of-the-line track pad, higher temp fluid (at least 500* dry boil point), and the lines aren't nessecary unless you just want to do them.

Most cars are able to get out there on track safely as you're learning and getting up to speed with that mild an upgrade unless they just have woefully inadequate factory brakes for the car's horsepower and weight (80s & 90s V8 Mustangs, etc that kind of stuff).
