Ask your tool supplier for a "pickle fork" it's used to pull off those ball joints from the Lower Control Arm and will work on the tie-rod ends on the rear toe-in arm adjusters and the rack and pinion.

What's realy cool is it does not affect the rubber boot in most cases of correct usage!
