I'll just chime in here, I've redone several sets now... sandpaper, a little (or lot, depending on condition) of sanding, and some flat black spray paint applied evenly and properly and you're set. That said, you may have to touch them up once or twice if they get chips/cracks. I gotta redo the one on the back of my Land Cruiser again but it lasted about a year before I lost any paint, and at that it is just a chip by where it bolts on... and since I redid it this chip is now driving me nuts. Not a bad little project at all unless yours are in REALLY bad shape.
