so now the question....fist off this engine is supost to have only 14k on it and i was told has forged pistons and rods... how can i tell if the pistons are really forged? on the top it says ic and .050 <<< that being just the size i didn't know if ic was a brand?

could i tell by taking off the oil pan possibly?
if it has .050 that at least tells us they are new pistons and that the engine has been over sized at some point indicating a proper rebuild

if you have a ring compressor to put it back i would suggest taking the oil pan off removing one of the bearing caps and popping the piston out the top

you will be able to see more (casting marks on underside) and if you still cant tell post pics im sure someone can figure it out for you
