Do you have a BGB or Haynes manual? That's probably your best bet!

As for the resetting, I believe this can be done by jumping 2 terminals in the diagnostic plug. (which 2 I can't remember, but it should be in the manuals!)

And the timing.. I do not know if there is a mark on the crank pulley. Behind the pulley tho is the timing belt gear, and on that gear there is a mark that should line up with the dot on the steel cover backing. Even simpler tho, just pull #1 spark plug and rotate engine to cyl. #1 TDC. It is at this point both camshafts should line up with the marks on the backing plate.
